Weeds On Your Lawn Out Of Control? Hire A Weed Control Spray Service

A few weeks ago, my sweet spouse brought home several tomato plants a friend had given him. My husband immediately put the small plants in pots. Every day, my spouse and I checked the plants to see whether they needed water. When the plants started growing tall, my spouse purchased stakes to brace them up with. He also invested in fertilizer to provide the plants with the nutrients they needed to grow. One day, when he went to look at the plants, he was excited to see several small tomatoes sprouting. That night, we celebrated our first gardening success as man and wife. On this blog, I hope you will discover simple gardening tips to help you grow your first crop of fruits or vegetables. Enjoy!

Weeds can become out of control very easily and can be hard to deal with. If you have a lot of weeds on your lawn, not only do they look unsightly, but they can damage your grass. One thing you can do to get rid of these weeds is to hire a weed control service. Below is information on how they will kill the weeds.

Choose the Products

If you have never done weed control on your own, you could damage your grass along with the weeds if you use the wrong products A weed control service knows the right products to use and when to use them to kill the weeds.

There are both pre-emergent and post-emergent weed control products. Once the weeds are gone, a pre-emergent spray should be used. This type of weed spray will prevent weeds from growing as it creates a protective barrier on your lawn. It is important this product be used in the early spring before weeds start growing. You still may get a few breakthrough weeds but those will be easier to deal with.

Post-emergent weed control products are used on a lawn that already has weeds. The product they use will kill the weeds without killing the grass. To do this, a selective herbicide is used which will target only the weeds and not the grass.

The most difficult thing about weed spray is that different weeds require different treatments. For example, some products may not work on nutsedge but work on crabgrass. A weed control spray service will know what needs to be used as they can identify the types of weeds you have.

Spray the Lawn

Once the weeds are identified and the weed control product is chosen, it is time to spray your lawn. A weed control spray service has equipment they use to do this. In many cases, they have a container attached to a sprayer. The weed control product is placed in the container and the contractor then sprays the product over your lawn. If you have a large lawn, the contract will use a much larger sprayer.

They will go slowly over the lawn to ensure the spray gets on all the weeds. Once they are completed, it generally takes a couple of weeks to start seeing the weeds die. Once this happens, they will continue to yellow and die until they are all gone. If you continue to see weeds after a couple of weeks, you should contact the weed control spray service as a different product may need to be used.

The contractor that comes to your home to take care of spraying for weed control can give you many tips on preventing weeds in the future.
