You Should Get A Patio Cover

A few weeks ago, my sweet spouse brought home several tomato plants a friend had given him. My husband immediately put the small plants in pots. Every day, my spouse and I checked the plants to see whether they needed water. When the plants started growing tall, my spouse purchased stakes to brace them up with. He also invested in fertilizer to provide the plants with the nutrients they needed to grow. One day, when he went to look at the plants, he was excited to see several small tomatoes sprouting. That night, we celebrated our first gardening success as man and wife. On this blog, I hope you will discover simple gardening tips to help you grow your first crop of fruits or vegetables. Enjoy!

You Should Get A Patio Cover

If you have a patio in your backyard, then you may be able to imagine a lot of great uses for it. From eating lunch on a nice day to reading a book outside or having friends over for a barbecue, patios have a lot to offer. However, for many reasons, they are best enjoyed when they are covered and you can learn more about this here.

A patio cover protects you from the sun

While you may like spending time outside on a beautiful and sunny day, this doesn't mean that direct sunlight is a good thing. The sun's UV rays can be very harmful. They can age your skin faster, they can give you a painful sunburn, and they can increase your chances of getting skin cancer. A patio cover can give you the best of both, it will protect you from those UV rays while still inviting you to relax outside. Plus, regular direct sunlight can prematurely damage some of your outdoor furniture by bleaching it and by causing it to get brittle.

A patio cover protects you from bird droppings

One of the last things you want to have happen when you are trying to enjoy the outdoors is to have the moment ruined when bird droppings hit you. Also, if you are trying to enjoy a meal outside, then the thought of bird droppings landing on the table, or worse yet landing on the food, can be enough to leave you grabbing your plate and heading back inside. When you have a patio cover over the patio, you, your table, and your food will all be protected from bird droppings. Also, another thing you should realize is droppings can be highly acidic and this means they can damage things on your patio like your outdoor furniture. An added bonus is you can also entertain people without the threat of bird droppings.

A patio cover can keep everything on the patio dry

If you love the rain, you might find the patio to make for a great place to enjoy it close-up. However, you may still want to stay nice and dry. Without a cover, you will get as wet as everything else outside. Also, your patio furniture will be wet and this means you won't have a comfortable seat to sit in. With a cover, everything will be dry and this includes the chairs and you.
